Odell Edward Hester, age 84, of Gastonia Highway in Lincolnton, died on Monday, October 15, 2018.
Odell was born April 21, 1934, in Lincoln County, to the late John and Ester Liggins Hester. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Bud Hester; grandson, Dustin Hester; brothers, Walter and Dewey Hester; and three sisters, Ruth Hester, Vergie Yarbrough, and Maybell Ray. He worked for Carolina Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Troyleen Teasley Hester; two sons, David Hester of Kernersville and John Hester of Hickory; a brother, James Hester of Lincolnton; three sisters, Rosie Cooper, Christine Helms, and Judy Land, all of Lincolnton; two grandsons, Troy Hester and Jared Hester; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Hester and Elizabeth Wellman; and a very close friend, Michelle Funderburk.
A private service will be held at a later date.
