Betty Lou Sigmon Hord

Betty Lou Sigmon Hord, 86, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, November 2, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Redding and Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hord was born on August 19, 1932, in Lincolnton, NC. She was the daughter of the late Rannie and Estelle Sigmon. A faithful member of Salem Baptist Church, she served as Church Clerk for 36 years and helped coordinate Vacation Bible School during many summers.
During her working years, she was employed by Rose’s, Lincoln Frozen Foods, and Crowell Hospital, where she spent 25 years. She also worked for Dr. Gordon Crowell for nine years. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, attending Pilot Club meetings and events, and spending quality time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bobby Joe Hord; son, David Hord, and wife Sheila; daughter, Jane Allred, and husband Mike; sisters, Naomi Chapman (Donald), Imogene Garrison; and brother, Glenn Sigmon. She was affectionately known as “Grandmommie” to her grandsons, Michael Allred, II (Tabby), Andrew Hord (Donna), granddaughter, Sarah Hovis (Matt); and one great-granddaughter, Annalyn Hord.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
