Douglas Arlin Carpenter

Douglas Arlin Carpenter, age 74, of 1088 Dorset Lane in Lincolnton, died on Friday, November 30, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Reepsville Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hull and Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Carpenter was born December 12, 1943, in Lincoln County, to the late Robert P. and Mary Lee Earl Carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Timmy Carpenter; brothers Litton Carpenter, Butch Carpenter, Ken Carpenter, Barry Carpenter, Dan Carpenter, Randy Carpenter, Mickey Carpenter, and Max Dean Carpenter; and sisters Elise Shronce. He worked in furniture manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Diane Ingle Carpenter of the home; a son, Tony Carpenter (Shellie) of Lincolnton; a daughter, Tammy Gilbert (Danny) of Lincolnton; two brothers, Ted Carpenter and Donald Carpenter; sisters, Evon Franklin, Mary Ann Rogers and Wanda Carpenter; three grandchildren, Katie Sampson (Matt) of Mountain View, NC, Wil Gilbert (Robin) of Vale, and Shelby Carpenter (Johnathan Henderson) of Lincolnton; and two great-grandchildren, Kassidy Bradley and Emmett Gilbert, both from Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to Reepsville Baptist Church, 4287 Reepsville Road, Vale, NC 28168.
