Joyce Self Houser
( August 29, 1935 - December 4, 2018 )
Joyce Self Houser, age 83, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, and formerly of McAlister Road, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received and welcomed from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall prior to the service.
Joyce was born August 29, 1935, in Lincoln County where she was a lifelong resident, to the late Charlie and Della Blanton Self. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Houser; a brother, Cecil Self; and a sister, Betty Eurey. Joyce was a lifelong member of Bethphage Lutheran Church. She had been a resident at the Brian Center of Lincolnton since May 2018.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Gayle Houser; two sons, Timothy Houser, and wife Mary Ruth, and Nathan Houser, and wife Brenda; sister, Rachel Austin; sister-in-law, Barbara Self; brother-in-law Fred Houser; and three grandchildren, Tori Houser (daughter of Nathan and Brenda, Ethan Houser (son of Nathan and Brenda), and Jesse Hubbard (son of Mary Ruth Houser).
