Marie Smith Gantt
( April 19, 1935 - December 7, 2018 )
Mrs. Marie Smith Gantt, age 83, of Peakwood Lane in Lincolnton, died on Friday, December 7, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Brown and Rev. Wayne Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in Roseland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Gantt was born April 19, 1935 in Gaston County to the late Frank Henry and Mary Hooks Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. “Gene” Gantt, one son, Roger Gantt, one brother, Bill Smith and great granddaughter, Abigail Hendrick. She was retired from textiles.
Survivors include two daughters, Angie Gantt of the home, Debbie Black and husband Reggie; one son, Kenneth Gantt and wife Sherry; three sisters, Ellen Thomas and husband Arvil, Joann Reynolds and Barbara Halavats; two brothers, Richard Smith and wife Jackie and Albert Smith and wife Janet; daughter in law, Sheila Franklin; four grandchildren, Chris Black, Stephanie Gantt, Cynthia Gantt and Jonathan Gantt and Tamara and Zander; seven great grandchildren, Brittany Black, Harlee Black, Ayden Ramsey and husband C.J., Allyson Gantt, Ava Corella, Riley Gantt and Lily Hendrick; one great great grandchild, Marshall Ramsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
