Gordon Dean Rhyne
( April 23, 1934 - February 18, 2019 )
Gordon Dean Rhyne, age 84, of 1417 Long Shoals Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, February 18, 2019.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Landers Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Rhyne was born April 23, 1934, in Lincoln County, to the late Hoover Rhyne and Annie Heafner Harrison. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Payseur Rhyne, and a son, Rodney Rhyne. He worked in construction.
He is survived by two sons, Rick Rhyne (Janice) and Dennis Rhyne, all of Lincolnton; two daughters, Nita Setzer (Dan) and Malissa Ray (Johnny), all of Lincolnton; a brother, Tommy Rhyne (Vicki) of Locust; step-sister, Sherry Zorn; step-brothers, Randy Rhyne and Kenny Rhyne; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Foundation (Hospice & Palliative Care), 221 N. Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792, or to Landers Chapel United Methodist Church, 1205 Long Shoals Road Lincolnton, NC 28092 (for the cemetery fund).
