Bobbie Jean Waldrop Spivey
( September 24, 1939 - March 11, 2019 )
Bobbie Jean Waldrop Spivey, age 79, of Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Coral Park Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bobbie was born September 24, 1939, in Cleveland County, to the late Jesse “J.W.” Waldrop and Emma Foster Waldrop. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Spivey; granddaughter, Chasity Spivey; great-granddaughter, Taylor Peyton; and cousin, Donna Mooneyhan. She worked as an office administrator in insurance, operated the snack bar at Town & Country Lanes, and was the church clerk and pianist at Coral Park Baptist Church. She also worked at Leslie Fay for many years.
She is survived by a son, Barry Spivey (Denise) of Maiden; daughters, Tina Spivey Burnham (Scott) and Caroline Spivey Hollar (fiancé Andy Evans); a brother, Kenny Waldrop (Belinda) of Navarre, FL; a sister, Cathy Hill (Larry) of Manning, SC; six grandchildren, Will Lane (Heather), Amy Kiser (Jason), Brad Lane (Lisa), Charity Spivey Greene (Marshall), Justin Beard (Kelly) and Wesley Beard; eleven great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Christy Lindsey, Samantha Parimuha, and Rebecca Waldrop.
