Betty Ann Smith Helton
( June 25, 1932 - March 30, 2019 )
Betty Ann Smith Helton, age 86, of Carillon Assisted Living in Lincolnton, and formerly of Oak Street in Lincolnton, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Mike Scott officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. At all other times, the family will be at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Helton was born June 25, 1932 in Mecklenburg County to the late Brady and Anna McMichael Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Helton, one son, Steve Helton, one daughter, Beverly Glasscock, one grandson, Steven Glasscock, one great granddaughter, Abigail Ingle, one brother, Wallace Smith and one sister, Sara Hunter. Mrs. Helton worked in banking and retired after forty years of service.
Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Ingle and husband Mark of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Michelle Boggs and husband Garry, Brandy Ingle, Ben Ingle and wife Lauren, Jessica Jordan and husband Sam; six great grandchildren, Carter Ingle, Ander Boggs, Ryker Ingle, Zoey Ingle, Link Jordan and Kayleigh Ingle.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or to Wycliffe, in support of her granddaughter Brandy Ingle who is a missionary serving in Papua, New Guinea, https://www.wycliffe.org/partner/brandyingle.
