Obituaries

Shirley Ann Murrell Hall, age 81, of Odyssey Lane in Sylva, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Her funeral will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born May 11, 1937, in Knox County, Tennessee, to the late John Pinkney Murrell and Georgia Eva Baker Murrell.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy C. Murrell; three sisters, Ruby Gantt, Dorothy Gheen, and Betty Lynch; a grandson, Dusty Dwight Davis; and a great-great-grandson, Kaidyn Reese Nichols.  She worked in textiles.  

She is survived by a son, Fred Wayne Hall, Jr., of Lincolnton; two daughters, Cynthia Elayne Hall of Sylva, and Sandra Kay Conley and husband, Gerry of Lincolnton; three grandchildren; six great-children; and one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
