Obituaries

Mrs. Betty Aileen Hill Winchenbach, age 94, of Moonlite Bay Drive in Sherrills Ford, died on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at St. Peter’s by-the-Lake Episcopal Church with Father Ron Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a reception for family and friends following the service at the church.

Mrs. Winchenbach was born August 17, 1924 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to the late Howard Niles and Thelma Elizabeth Long Hill.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Winchenbach and one son, Warren Lyle Winchenbach.  Mrs. Winchenbach was retired from the State of Florida Public School System where she worked as a school secretary.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Best of Sherrills Ford; one granddaughter, Theresa Berry and husband Chris of Charlotte; three grandsons, Michael Maddox of Gastonia, Matthew Winchenbach and wife Becky of Yulee, Florida, Adam Winchenbach and wife Alicia of Ocala, Florida; two great-grandsons, Finley and Ethan Winchenbach.
