Dorothy Jean Wilson
( October 7, 1930 - June 5, 2019 )
Dorothy “Dot” Jean Wilson, age 88, of 108 Hillside Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton with Pastor Chad Walker officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Ms. Wilson was born October 7, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Robert Wilson and Burtis Canipe Wilson Keever. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by three brothers, Thurn Wilson, Bob Wilson, and Roy Baker; four sisters, Sue Caldwell, Essie Tolbert, Margaret Talbert, and Mary Wilson; one half-brother, Ray Wilson; and one half-sister, Willie Dellinger. She was a beautician for many years and was retired from textiles.
Survivors include one son, Jennings Lavon “Butch” Wilson (Renae), of Central, SC; one daughter, Sherry Collins (Jim), of High Point, NC; two brothers, David Wilson (Betty) of Lakeland, FL, and Joe Wilson (Doris), of Iron Station; a sister-in-law, Ovella Wilson of Cramerton; three grandchildren, Garrett Joseph Wilson, Brooke Collins, and Blake Collins; one step-grandson, Grayson Downs; and a number of nieces and nephews. Special people are Jae Caldwell and Justin Ellis.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Cemetery Fund, c/o Messiah UMC, 4102 W. Highway 27, Vale, NC 28168.
