Sydney Charles Royster

Mr. Sydney Charles Royster, age 92, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethphage Lutheran Church.
Mr. Royster was born June 12, 1927, in Lincoln County to the late Alvin and Mary Leonard Royster. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Murphy. Mr. Royster served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, and then later worked for Carolina Freight Carriers as a long-haul driver. Mr. Royster was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish with his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Carswell Royster of the home; a son, Mitchell Royster, and wife Martha, of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Betty Royster and Charles Royster; and brothers and sisters, Tom Royster, Jane R. Elmore, Linda R. Sain, Bob Royster, and Terry Royster, all of Lincolnton.
