John David Ingle, Sr.

John David Ingle, Sr., age 76, of Lincolnton, died on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phil Goins and Pastor Ken Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Ingle was born September 22, 1943, in Lincoln County, to the late John Alfred Ingle and Geneva Scronce Ingle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith Ingle; and a great-grandson, Gabriel McGarrett Smith. John worked as a diesel mechanic for Dellinger Pre-Cast. He was a member of the Crouse Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years, and was also on the Board of Directors at the Crouse Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by a son, John David Ingle, II, of Hickory; stepdaughter, Debra Smith (Ray) of Lincolnton; stepson, Robert Goins (Deborah) of Lincolnton; stepdaughter, Jean Herman of Lincolnton; a brother, William Edward Ingle (Dianne) of Lincolnton; sister, Bernice I. Wilkinson of Lincolnton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Crouse Volunteer Fire Department, 2764 W. Highway 150, Crouse, NC 28033.
