Obituaries

Catherine Devine Drum, age 93, of the Buffalo Shoals Road, Lincolnton died Saturday, October 26, 2019.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at First Christian Church Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service.

Mrs. Drum was born on January 20, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Craig Wilkinson Devine and Lillian Abernethy Devine. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Drum, three brothers, Jack, Dean and Joe Devine and her granddaughter, Ame Drum.  She was retired from the textile industry. Mrs. Drum served as a past Worthy Matron in the Lincoln County Eastern Star Chapter 114, volunteered as a reading mentor at G.E. Massey School and was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Lincolnton.

She is survived by two sons, Tommy Drum and wife, Dorea of Sherrills Ford and Steve Drum and wife, Karen of Lincolnton; one daughter, Velinda D. Lynch of Lincolnton; two brothers, Donald Devine and wife, Jean of Iron Station and Darrell Devine and wife, Aliene of Lincolnton; two sisters, Patricia Alexander and husband, Fred Alexander, Jr. of Kingsland, GA and Dorothy Williams and husband, Gerald of Lincolnton. nine grandchildren, Trevor, Brandon, Laura, John, Jacob, Geoffrey, Erica, James and Hannah; twelve great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
