Margie Alice Black
( September 22, 1925 - November 28, 2019 )
Margie Alice Black, age 94, of Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 28, 2019.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Schrum officiating. Burial will follow Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Black was born September 22, 1925, in Lincoln County, daughter of the late John and Polly Smith Lutz (known to most as Aunt Polly). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Haywood Black, daughter, Barbara Jane Hefner; one granddaughter Wanda Black Cook; great-grandson, Daulton Glenn Turpin; four sisters Rosie Lutz Brown, Sara Jane Lutz, Bertha Lutz Sipe Cauthen, Lonie Mae Lutz Lookadoo; three brothers, Albert Wesley Lutz, George Henry Lutz and Noah Samuel Lutz; sons-in-law, Howard Hefner and Gene Leatherman; sisters in law, Peggy Jean Black and Phyllis Ann Cloer Black. Mrs. Black was a loving mother and homemaker who will be missed immensely.
She is survived by one daughter, Sue Turpin; four sons, Ray Black, Lester Black and wife Cathy, Clifford Black and wife Linda and Jim Black and companion Crystal; seventeen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and forty-eight great-great grandchildren; five step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1462 Leonard’s Fork Church Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
