Gary Hugh Chapman
( July 15, 1949 - February 2, 2020 )
Gary Hugh Chapman, age 70, of Redbud Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, February 2, 2020.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Gary was born July 15, 1949, in Lincoln County, to the late Jack Chapman and Tiny Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his bride, Sherry R. Chapman, Father and Mother-in-law, Pete and Peggy Reynolds and sister-in-law, Betty Reynolds.
Gary was well known by many for his love for family, especially his grandsons, and his friends, known as “the entourage”. His sense of humor was unmatched, his way of making others smile and laugh was a true gift. In his younger years he was the owner of Chapman Building & Remodeling, where he enjoyed helping others bring something old and outdated back to life and beautiful again.
He is survived by a son, Tommy Chapman (Lesley) of Lincolnton; a daughter, Shelley C. Butler (Shawn) of Grand Haven, MI; two brothers, Steve Chapman and Larry Green, both of Lincolnton; a sister, Lisa Chapman of Hickory; brothers-in-law, Terry Reynolds and Gary Reynolds (Betty) of Lincolnton, and Rusty Reynolds (Donna) of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Carson Chapman, of Lincolnton, NC. James Butler, Garrett Butler and Reid Butler of Grand Haven, MI; as well as a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
