Garland Tucker

Garland “Bill” Tucker, age 89, of Grier Street in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Hollybrook Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Ingle officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, at Warlick Funeral Home.
“Bill” was born April 12, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Oscar C. and Johnsie Icard Tucker. He worked for the City of Lincolnton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Tucker of the home; a son, Paul Michael Tucker of Polkton; daughter, Ann Tucker Avery, and husband Vernon, of Lincolnton; brother, Belton Tucker, and wife Merle, of Lincolnton; sister, Oneda Barrett, and husband Don, of Maiden; sister, Dot Rhyne of Lincolnton; two granddaughters, Donna Avery Horigan, and husband Shawn, of Chesapeake, VA, and Holly Avery of Iron Station; and four great-grandchildren, Jedi Lykins, Colton Horigan, Lena Dawes, and Shane Horigan.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
