Donald Carl Rudisill, Jr.
( May 18, 1954 - February 24, 2020 )
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Carl Rudisill Jr. announce his passing on February 24, 2020. For all of the things that he felt he still needed to do and for all the people he wanted to share his ideas and energy with, his body failed to rival the depth and breadth of his unique and tender spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Patsy Rudisill, his wife and partner Leahbeth Hager Mason, and brother-in-law Roy Schultz. His family, sisters Jane Morton (Stephen), Dr. Mary Rudisill, and Sarah Araya-Jimenez (Sergio), step-son Cody Mason (Samantha), step-daughter Randi Mason Wilde (James), granddaughters Hanna, Zoe, and Ellie, and his uncle Don Cagle remain to celebrate and remember Don’s life. When Don told stories of his youth, he would always mention special friends Tom and Jeb Seagle and Jack Lassiter. He loved us all.
The private graveside service for the immediate family will be at Hollybrook Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service for Donald Rudisill will be held at Lincolnton First United Methodist on Sunday March 1st at 3:00 PM. The family will be available to greet friends after the service in the Philathea Class. Warlick Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, and to recognize the support, comfort, and care they have provided the family, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County.
