Ethel Mamie Hovis

Ethel Mamie Hovis, age 95, of Catalina Lane in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
Miss Hovis was born December 29, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Waverly Jonas Hovis and Gladys Saine Hovis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Waverly Jonas Hovis, Jr. “Pete”, Carroll Marcus Hovis, and George Wayne Hovis; and three sisters, Betty Jean Hovis, Mary Jo Hovis, and Sarah Hovis Garrison. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a brother, James E. Hovis of Lincolnton; a sister, Patricia Hovis Hance, and husband Boyce, of Lincolnton; sister-in-law, Sharon Sain Hovis of Lincolnton; six nephews; and six nieces.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
