Sammie Charles West, age 67, of Hines Circle Road in Stanley, died on Monday, April 20, 2020.
Sammie was born October 16, 1952, in Jones County, Mississippi, to the late Sammie Wayne West and Charlene Blackwell West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny West and Jerry West. Sammie worked the bulk of his working career in industrial and nuclear HVAC and retired as a superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Dale West of the home; son, Billy West, and wife Mindy, of Lincolnton; two daughters, Misty Kolb, and husband Matt, of Lincolnton, and Shelby Penberthy, and husband Scott, of Denver; two brothers, Butch Murray and Skip West, both of Laurel, MS; five sisters, Ricki Nixon, Becky Harwell, Jody West, Shirley Rayner, and Regina Clark; five grandchildren, Brendon West, Riley Kolb, Brett West, Kalyssa Kolb, and Weston Penberthy.
Burial will be private for the immediate family.
Memorials may be made to the North Carolina Masonic Home for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
