Obituaries

Jerry Dean Franklin, age 71, of Salem Church Road, Lincolnton died Saturday, May 2, 2020.

The family will receive guests at the home, 2464 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020.

Mr. Franklin was born on February 20, 1949 and was the son of the late Wylie and Martha Whitesides Franklin.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Franklin, Bill Franklin and Eddie Franklin. Mr. Franklin worked as a brick mason and was also a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Thresia Ray Franklin of the home; one son, Wylie Shane Franklin and wife, Dawn of Lincolnton; two grandsons, Bradley Franklin and Brent Franklin; one brother, Phillip Franklin and wife, Cindy of Lincolnton; one sister, Martha Jane Starr of Iron Station.
