Patricia Sue Davis Coffey
( February 25, 1937 - May 14, 2020 )
Patricia Sue Davis Coffey passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 14, 2020.  Patricia went to her eternal home to be with the only people she loved more than her family, her God and her savior Jesus Christ.

Patricia was born February 25, 1937, in Gastonia, NC.  She spent her childhood in Virginia, Gastonia, and Lincolnton.  She graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1953.  She spent her work career as office manager for several local companies including Beal Textiles.  Following her retirement Patricia attended Gaston College and became a member of Gamma Beta Phi with a two year grade point average of 4.0.  

For the past twenty five years she has volunteered for numerous Lincoln County Schools including Asbury, GE Massey, Pumpkin Center, Union, West Lincoln Middle, North Brook and Lincoln Charter.  She was named school volunteer of the year seven times.  In 2018 Patricia was named Lincoln County Schools Volunteer of the Year at 82 years of age.  Patricia was very active in the churches she attended teaching Sunday school, leading the choir and putting on plays.

Patricia is survived by sister Peggy (Davis) Thomas of Chesapeake, VA, sons Kevin (Lanelle) Coffey, Jeff (AnnaMarie) Coffey and daughter Sue Ellen (Alan) Buff.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren Brent (Nicole) Coffey, Abbey (Greg) Keziah, Brooke (Kevin) Brock, John Coffey, Jeremy (Sierra) Coffey, Taren (David) Caldwell, Kyle (Megan) Coffey, Phillip (Maci) Franklin, Jackie (Shane) Godfrey.  Great grandchildren Troy Keziah, Tyler Owens, Ally Owens, Cecile Coffey, Tate Caldwell, Vance Caldwell, Filomena Coffey, Bron Coffey, Ryleigh Boggs, Cadon Godfrey, Brennan Godfrey, and Mikayla Godfrey.  Patricia is also survived by very special friend June Franklin, and special neighbors on Cameron Road.

Patricia was preceded in death by parents Harry Davis and Lucille Davis and husband C.E. (Bud) Coffey.

There will be a private graveside service with a celebration of life scheduled and announced in the future.
