Suzanne "Susie" Kisiah Abernethy

Suzanne “Susie” Kisiah Abernethy, age 71, of Denmark Drive in Denver, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020, at Denver United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Autry officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
“Susie” was born July 23, 1948, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Cotes and Ida Byrd Kisiah. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Ferris Reid Abernethy; brothers, Floyd, Buck, Jerry, and Cecil Kisiah; and an infant sister, Lucille Kisiah. She worked for Davidson College as the visit program coordinator.
She is survived by two daughters, Niki Vaughan (Scott) of Oakboro, and Erin Kelly (John) of Ramseur, NC; a brother Don Kisiah of Little River, SC; a sister, Lavonne Jackson of Mint Hill, NC; three grandchildren, Benny, Hannah, and Max Vaughan; one great-grandchild, Skylynn Vaughan; and a half-brother, Shane Kisiah of Florida.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
