Obituaries

Carol Grover Laster, age 80, of Yarborough Road, Lincolnton passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Scott Campbell officiating. Mr. Laster’s body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Laster was born on October 20, 1939 and was the son of the late Ed and Carrie Thacker Laster. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry “Peanut” Laster and his granddaughter, Crystal Harrison.  He was retired from the textile industry.

He is survived by his children, Lynn Evans of Lincolnton, Jerry Laster and wife, Wendy of Thomasville, James “Jabo” Laster of Pickens, SC and Keith Laster and wife, Jessica of High Shoals; two step-sons, Richard Wells and wife Edna of Kannapolis and Garry Wells of Shelby; one step-daughter, Sherry Wells of Lincolnton; his sister, Brenda Sprouse of Spartanburg, SC; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great–great-granchildren.
