Warner Scott Vernon

Warner Scott Vernon, age 85, of 1476 Pressley Drive in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 30, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Vernon was born February 3, 1935, in Caswell County, to the late Edward Rose Vernon and Mamie Scott Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Ernest Vernon; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Adair Vernon. He served in the United States Air Force, and later worked as a supervisor in textiles.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Webster Vernon of the home; his children, Warner Michael Vernon (Janice) of Lincolnton, Karen Adkins (Charles) of Kings Mountain, Adair Lynne Mullineaux of Morehead City, and Randy Vernon (Jamie) of Lincolnton; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Portland, OR; a brother, Richard Vernon of Prospect Hill, NC; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
