Charles Leonard Adams

Charles Leonard Adams, age 73, of 1120 Ponderosa Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020, at Community Grove Church with Rev. Wayne Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Charles was born June 21, 1947, in Lancaster County, South Carolina, to Gordon C. Adams and the late Frances Ellis Adams. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and later worked as a truck driver. Charles was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was the commander of the DAV for nine years; district commander for two years; and served on the finance committee at state level.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Goins Adams of the home; a son, Kelly Gene Schronce, and wife Donna, of Lincolnton; a daughter, Angela Auton Cook, and husband Michael, of Lincolnton; one grandchild, Sawyer Auton, and wife Brianna; three step-grandchildren, Julia Cook, Heather Cook, and Johnathon Cook; step-great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Cook; father, Gordon C. Adams and stepmother, Imogene Simmons Adams, of Dallas.
