Dorothy Gean Ballard Lawing

Dorothy Gean Ballard Lawing, age 90, formerly of Freemont Lane in Stanley, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Wexford House in Denver.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Eric Lane officiating. Her body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lawing was born April 12, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Horace and Jennie Houk Ballard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth T. Lawing; three brothers, Floyd Ballard, Arnold Ballard and Jimmy Ballard; three sisters, Elizabeth Ballard, Helen Robinson and Susie Campbell.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Thomas “Tommy” Lawing and wife Annette of Denver, Eddie Lawing and wife Carrie of Holden Beach; one daughter, Kimberly Manlove and husband Rick of Denver; one brother, Charlie Ballard of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 378 N. Pilot Knob Road, Denver, NC 28673.
