Rev. Perry Lane Sloop

Rev. Perry Lane Sloop, age 78, of Crystal Springs Drive in Lincolnton, died on Monday, October 19, 2020.
A private graveside service will be held at Bethphage Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Dave Fox and Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating.
Rev. Sloop was born November 29, 1941, in Landis, North Carolina, to the late Gray A. Sloop and Lucille Mullis Sloop. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his wife, Mary Jo Warren Sloop. Rev. Sloop was a Lutheran minister and served six different congregations in Texas and North Carolina before he retired in 1990. Through his strong Christian faith, Rev. Sloop was able to impact numerous people in his life and theirs.
He is survived by a daughter, Christina Huitt, and husband Jason, of Cherryville; grandson, Levi Huitt; sister, Pat Bouknight of Landis, NC; and his cat, Jackson.
Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
