Augustus Fay Heavner

Augustus Fay Heavner, age 83, of Shoal Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Bethphage Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Frederick Mitschke officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Sunday in the Bethphage Lutheran Church Family Life Center.
Mr. Heavner was born on March 25, 1937 in Dade County, Florida to the late Ethan Lee and Sallie Jenks Heavner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Yates and Marvin and sisters, Edna Leonard and Sue Gantt. He was a former employee of Carolina Freight, Custom Transports, Vale Hosiery and owned and operated C & H Ice Company.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rebecca Carpenter Heavner of the home; two sons, Curt F. Heavner and wife Patti Taylor Heavner of Lincolnton, Christopher A. Heavner and wife, Susie Swink Heavner of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Steven, Bethany Huffman and husband Damon, Erin and Reagan; two great grandchildren, Mia, Sayler Huffman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethphage Lutheran Church, 4060 NC-182, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Hospice of Charlotte Region, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
