Henry Miles (Bill) Abernethy, Jr.

Henry Miles (Bill) Abernethy, Jr., 90 of Lincolnton, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on January 8, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Inez Abernethy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, January 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Lincolnton, with Rev. Stanley Spence and Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Hollybrook Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Warlick Funeral Home Monday, January, 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for those who wish to pay their respects. The family will not be present.
Bill was an Army veteran of the Korean War. After a successful career he retired from Vermont American.
Survivors include a daughter, Debi Daniels (Lance) of Weddington, NC; a son, Henry Miles Abernethy III (Tammi) of High Shoals, NC; four grandchildren, Kyle Daniels (Kristin), Travis Daniels (Erin), Landon Abernethy, Devan Martinez (Allan); four great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances McConnell; and a sister-in-law, Marge Abernethy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
