Glenna Cable White
( May 6, 1941 - January 14, 2021 )
Mrs. Glenna Cable White, age 79, of Alexis, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center after a brief illness. She has been residing for eight years with her daughter and son-in-law in Alexis.
A native of Swain County, she was born on May 6, 1941, to the late Charlie Alexander Cable and Flora Belle Mitchell Cable. She worked for seventeen years as a supervisor at Office Depot. Glenna was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who influenced many lives in her time on earth. At avid reader, gardener, basketball and softball player. She was passionate about the “Tarheels.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Hall White, and grandson, Christian Alexander Bollinger. She came from a large family and was preceded in death by brothers Colan, Calvert, William Jennings Cable; a sister, Lorene Clifton; a brother Charlie “Bud” Cable; a sister, Polly Hogan; brothers Clell, Alfred and Russell Cable; and sisters, Evelyn (Nug) Monroe, and Beulah Jean “Bootsy” Gordon.
Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Jada White Sadler, and husband Robbie Sadler, of Alexis; one brother, Don Cable of Glenwood. She has many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.
Services are being planned for a later date.
