Ronald Leary Robinson
( March 26, 1939 - January 27, 2021 )
Ronald Leary Robinson, 81, of Lincolnton, NC passed away peacefully January 27, 2021. Retired from Gaston County Dyeing Machine Company after 36 years, Leary enjoyed serving his church family as a deacon and usher for many years, as well as helping during Soup, Salad and Scripture, Wednesday night suppers and Upward Basketball at First Baptist Church of Lincolnton. He and his wife, Brenda, also served through the Backpack Ministry, providing meals for families in the community each week. One of Leary’s greatest accomplishments was that of dedicated father, providing his daughters with a daily example of living a Christian life. This kind and loving servant leader leaves behind his wife, Brenda, daughter Cheryl Burgess and her husband Scott Burgess of Lincolnton, granddaughter Kathryn Burgess of Lincolnton, daughter Michele Robinson of Durham, and brother and sister-in-law Dan and Susan Robinson of Fuquay-Varina. He was preceded in death by his parents Kelly O. Robinson and Mildred Hagan Robinson.
For those who wish to pay their respects, Leary will lie in state at Warlick’s Funeral Home on Sunday, January 31st from 12:00 – 4:00pm. A brief graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 11:00am on Monday, February 1st. Officiating will be Dr. Stanley Spence and Reverend Phillip Campbell. Memorials may be made in memory of Leary to First Baptist Church of Lincolnton.
