Betty Jo Cloninger Jones
( August 4, 1929 - January 29, 2021 )
Betty Jo Cloninger Jones, age 91, of Lincolnton Rehabilitation and formerly of Pressley Drive in Lincolnton, died on Friday, January 29, 2021.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at High Shoals Memorial Garden with Rev. Bill Hallman officiating. Her body will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 on Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born in Gaston County on August 4, 1929 to the late Non E. and Julia Harwell Cloninger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jones; two brothers, Vernon Cloninger and Charles Cloninger and one sister, Peggy Hughes. Mrs. Jones retired from the Lincoln Nursing Center after 25 years of service.
Survivors include her sister, Martha Murphy of Stanley; five nieces, Cheryl Dover and husband Stephen of Dallas, Jill Culberson of Dallas, Ann Massey and husband William of Mt. Holly, Julie Bodenhemier and husband James of Stanley and Amy Eberle and husband Wayne of Boone; one nephew, Joe Hughes of High Shoals; numerous great nieces and nephews including special great niece, Leah Dover.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, 933 Louise Avenue, Suite 101B, Charlotte, NC 28204.
