Peggy Perkins Royster
( January 5, 1946 - February 4, 2021 )
On February 4, 2021, Mrs. Peggy Perkins Royster, known as “Peg” to many, gained her wings and entered the gates of heaven. She was greeted by family and friends she loved throughout her time here on Earth including her parents and mother-in-law.
Peg was born and raised in Denver, NC before moving to Lincolnton after marrying her beloved, Bob. Together they built a home where everyone who visited was made to feel welcomed, loved and well fed. She was known for her famous macaroni and cheese, but most importantly, known for devotion to her family. She was truly a mother to all.
Peg was a dedicated employee of Lincoln County Schools for over thirty five years where she served in the child nutrition department. She enjoyed cooking meals for family, hosting summertime pool gatherings, and, most recently, caring for her great grandsons.
Peg leaves behind a family who loved and adored her beyond measure. Those left to continue her legacy are husband Bob Royster; daughter Rebecca Sain; son Michael Royster (Karen); grandson Josh Sain (Chess); granddaughter Brooke Heafner (Clay); granddaughter Ashley Royster; and great grandsons Brody and Bryce Heafner. Brothers and sisters include Helen Hickman (Stan), Billy Perkins, Donna Perkins, Danny Perkins (Mike) and the late Jimmy Perkins (Rachel). She also leaves behind brother-in-laws Tom and Terry; sister-in-laws Betty, Jane and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at the Bethphage Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Robert Frederick Mitschke on Monday February 8 at 2:00pm. Mask will be mandated and social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethphage Lutheran Church, 4060 NC-182, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
