John Lester Burgess, age 62, of Roy Ballard Street in Denver, died on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Mr. Burgess was born May 2, 1958, in Cleveland County, to the late Lester Junior Burgess and Ruby Faye Ward Burgess. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Burgess; and a sister, Brenda Burgess. He worked for CommScope. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and telling good jokes.
He is survived by two sons, John C. Burgess (Amy) of Morganton, and Adam Burgess of Marion; two brothers, Michael Burgess of Maiden, and Robert Burgess of Denver; two grandchildren, Marlee Burgess and Harper Burgess; and long-time girlfriend, Mary Jeanette Giles.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
