Betty Jean Mooney Allen

Betty Jean Mooney Allen, age 86, of Atlantic Lane in Lincolnton, died on Friday, February 26, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021, in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Brittain officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Allen was born June 18, 1934, in Burke County, to the late George Washington Mooney and Pearl Willis Mooney. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Newton Allen; two sons, Dale Allen and Mark Twain Allen; and a brother, Ray Mooney.
She is survived by daughters, Vickie Gilbert, and husband Charles, and Gail Smith, and husband Chris, all of Lincolnton, and Lisa Daily of Indiana; sons, Lee Allen of Hickory, and Charles Allen, and wife Dawn, of Lincolnton; sister, Helen Richardson of Lawndale; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
