Janice Blalock Elmore
( May 23, 1944 - March 5, 2021 )
Janice Blalock Elmore, age 76, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away March 5, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Jan was born May 23, 1944, in Lincoln County, to Berlie (Beth) Wilkinson Blalock and Walter Wade Blalock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Calvin Blalock, sister, Brenda Deal, and husband Ted Elmore.
Jan leaves behind her loving partner, Terry Carpenter; daughters, Elaina Phillips (Doug), and Tabitha Elmore (Bart Cranford). She was a loving Grandma to Lucy and William Burke. She was survived by her brothers, Gerald and Johnny Blalock, Calvin’s wife, Gaye, and many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College, Jan taught in the Lincoln County Schools for 25 years where she touched the lives of many faculty and students.
The family sends special thanks to Joyce Smith, Haley Brooks, and the staff from Stress Free Home Care. Their love and support during Jan’s journey meant so much to us all.
A private service to honor Jan’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church, 8210 Unity Church Road, Denver, NC 28037, or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
