Ronald Wayne Boswell
( April 11, 1940 - March 26, 2021 )
Our dear father, grandpa, brother, friend and neighbor, Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Boswell, Sr. of Lincolnton, NC passed peacefully from this world on Friday, March 26, 2021. After a long and arduous battle with Covid, he is now with his Lord and Savior.
He was born on April 11, 1940, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to Harold K. Boswell and Virginia Hines Boswell. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Claude Donald Boswell, Sr.
Ronnie was an avid lifelong bluegrass musician. After teaching himself to play the guitar at an early age he went on the master the banjo, fiddle and mandolin. He attended and played at many festivals where he met many friends and was never a stranger to anyone. His blood ran deep for his love of music and he was eager to teach and share his love of this music with all of his family and friends. For the last eight years he was a regular picker at the Senior Center of Lincolnton. He worked for many years at the Dan River Cotton Mills in Danville, VA as a supervisor and eventually retired from Rhyne Mills in Lincolnton.
He is survived by his beloved longtime sweetheart, Carol Wilson of Lincolnton; his two children, Angela R. Daniel (Jamie) of Danville VA and Ronnie W. Boswell II (Christy) of Wilson, NC; two sisters, Barbara Boswell Dameron and Debra Boswell Wright (Brian) both of Danville, VA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Ronnie at the Lincolnton Senior Center and a graveside service at Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA as safe gatherings permit.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lincolnton Senior Center, 514 Academy Street, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
