Rev. Dr. William Robert "Bob" Lynn

Rev. Dr. William Robert “Bob” Lynn, age 77, of Denver, died on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church in Denver with Rev. Scott Slaughter officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
“Bob” was born August 31, 1943, in Gaston County, to the late Jack and Christine Spargo Lynn. He retired from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol after 18 years of service, and most recently served as the pastor for New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Slaughter Lynn of the home; children; William Slaughter (Tonda) of Taylorsville, David Raymond Slaughter (Tammy Goode Slaughter) of Taylorsville, Tammy Slaughter Wingo (Jim Wingo, Jr.) of Catawba, Rev. Scott Edward Slaughter (Lori Sanders Slaughter) of Lexington, and Lisa Haskins (Clarence) of Gastonia; thirteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 532 N. Little Egypt Road, Denver, NC 28037.
