Troy Eugene Brooks, Sr.

Troy Eugene Brooks, Sr., age 82, of Gastonia Highway in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021, at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Taylor and Rev. Luke Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Iron Station Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. at the church. Mr. Brooks will lie in state on Thursday from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home. The family will not be present during this time. Masks are required for all services.
Troy was born April 15, 1939, in Lincoln County, to the late Troy Jefferson Brooks and Lois Elizabeth Goins Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Scott Brooks. He worked as a supervisor in textiles.
He is survived by a son, Troy E. Brooks, Jr. (Christine) of Statesville; daughter, Faith Taylor (Mark) of Georgia; brother, Danny Wayne Brooks of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Christine Gilbert, Caleb Brooks, Joshua Taylor, Anna Schill and Lillie Brooks; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Highland Drive Baptist Church, 2810 Highland Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
