William "Hoyle" Sain, Sr.
( March 21, 1922 - June 1, 2021 )
William “Hoyle” Sain, Sr., age 99, of 4943 Flay Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Bethphage Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the family life center of the church from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m.
Mr. Sain was born March 21, 1922, in Lincoln County, to the late D.E. “Mott” Sain and Willard Hoyle Sain. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Buford, Harold and Blaine Sain; and a sister, Hazel Sain. Mr. Sain was a World War II veteran, a member of the ‘Last Man Standing’ club, an avid fisherman, and a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR, especially the late Dale Earnhardt.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Leonard Sain of the home; two sons, William H. “Buddy” Sain, Jr. (Judy) of Lincolnton, and Nick Sain (Jane) of Maiden; daughter, Linda Jo Saine of North Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Forney Sain (Ruth) of Vale; sister, Bonnie S. Brackett (Dean) of Vale; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to “Hoyle’s” caregivers, Gwen Thompson, Tilly Willis, Shirley Diamond, Maranda Ikard, Franna Cline, and Fran Johnson.
