Gilbert Downs

Gilbert Downs, age 81 of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021, in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Casar with Rev. Judy Ledford officiating.
Gilbert was born January 2, 1940, in Cleveland County, to the late Acie and Lona Price Downs. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Clarence Downs; and three sisters, Versey Cook, Gueirl Newton, and Beatrice Spencer. He was the owner of Down’s Gararge.
He is survived by his special friend, Linda Carpenter of Lincolnton; a sister, Bernice Wright of Lawndale; and a number of nieces and nephews.
