Christine Hester Helms

Christine Hester Helms, age 75, of 745 Hestertown Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hestertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Christine was born May 16, 1946, in Lincoln County, to the late John Dewey Hester and Esther Mae Liggins Hester. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Hester, Walter Hester, and Odell Hester; and sisters, Ruth Cody, Vergie Yarbrough, and Maybell Ray. She worked in furniture manufacturing. Christine was a loving mother and grandmother with a stubborn streak. She loved casinos, painting, reading, and puzzles.
She is survived by a son, John Timothy Helms of Lincolnton; daughter, Tina Mullins (Freddy Dover) of Lincolnton; brother, James Hester of Lincolnton; sisters, Rosie Cooper of Lincolnton, and Julia Land (Jimmy) of Crouse; three grandchildren, Ronnie Thompson (Tracy), Callie Thompson (Kristi), and James Landan Mullins (Cassie); and caregiver, Vergie Hester.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
