Kay Chandler Whitener, age 87, of Cullendale Court in Crouse, died on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
A private graveside service will be held at Hollybrook Cemetery with Rev. Tina Burleson officiating.
Mrs. Whitener was born November 19, 1933, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Dudley C. Chandler, Sr. and Georgia Totten Chandler King. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Robinson and Martha Hickey; and three children, Rusty Whitener, Eric Whitener, and Joan Vandeusen. She worked as a computer specialist for Conagra.
She is survived by her husband, Henry E. Whitener of the home; daughter, Lee O’Malley (John) of Matthews; brother, Dudley Chandler (Winborne) of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Chris O’Malley (Rebecca) of Matthews, Mark O’Malley of Huntersville, Erin Taylor of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Taylor Weese of Denver; and four great-grandchildren.
