Billy Joel Ballard, Sr., age 81, of N. Aspen Street in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
A Celebration of Life service with interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church columbarium. Rev. Michael Collins will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mr. Ballard was born March 1, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late James Edgar Ballard and Delcia Sneed Ballard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, David Ballard, Bobby Ballard, and Eddie Ballard, all of Lincolnton. He served in the United States Army in Germany. Bill was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lincolnton. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sain Ballard of the home; stepdaughter, Joan Hannon (Tommy) of Lincolnton; son, Joel Ballard of Lincolnton; granddaughters, Amber Hannon of Mooresville, Amanda Hannon Boyles (Tyler) of Denver, NC, and Alidia Hannon of San Diego, CA; grandson, Garrett Ballard of Lincolnton; great-granddaughters, Skylar Boyles and Harper Boyles, both of Denver, NC; brother, Donald Ballard (Jean) of Lincolnton; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
