Zemmie Dempsey Harrison

Zemmie Dempsy Harrison, 93, of 1621 Spencer Mountain Road passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Zemmie was born in Rutherford County on October 11, 1927, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Ray Harrison. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nellie Juanita Harrison, grandson Jerry “Jay” Harrison, and 11 siblings.
Zemmie graduated from American Textile University in Belmont, NC and retired from Rex Textile Mill and United Memorial Bible Services.
Survivors include his grandson Cameron “Chip” Harrison and wife Misty, special friend Debbie Simms, son Jerry Harrison and wife Jeanne, daughter Vanita Evans and Steve Evans, and step grandchildren Theresa Hill, Lisa Byrd, Christine Dills, and Darlene Johnson.
Memorials may be made to Ranlo Baptist Church, 1517 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC 28054, or to ASPCA Tributes, 520 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018.
