Richard Therlow Gooden
( March 30, 1954 - July 6, 2021 )
Richard Therlow Gooden, 67, passed on peacefully on July 6, 2021, at the Heath House in Lincolnton, after his battle with cancer. He was born on March 30, 1954, in Mecklenburg, North Carolina, to his late parents Therlow and Margaret Bridges Gooden. Richard enjoyed driving cross-country delivering goods and materials, until he retired in 2014. Richard was a member of New Grace Baptist Church in Iron Station, NC.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and older sisters Mary Diane Hudson and Shirley Henrietta Gooden. Richard is survived by his son Keith Richard Gooden and daughter-in-law Sheila, of Maiden, his 5 grandchildren Tori Moseley of Hudson, Thomas Moseley of Maiden, Carin Gooden of Newton, Brock Moseley of Maiden, and Samantha Gooden of Maiden, and a sister Linda Lovett Hertlein (John) of Florence, SC.
A celebration of Richard Gooden’s life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at New Grace Baptist Church, 3462 Hwy. 73, Iron Station, NC, with Pastor, Dr. Jerry Taylor, Sr. and Bro. Jay McCaslin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. An inurnment service will take place in the New Grace Baptist Church Cemetery following.
