Annie Turner

Annie “Doris” Brown Turner, age 91, of Christopher Road in Iron Station, died on Friday, July 30, 2021.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Pearl Baptist Church with Pastor Hugh Whitfield and Pastor Eric Reel officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockingham. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turner was born October 2, 1929, in Richmond County, to the late Newton and Ida Robinson Brown. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin “Winfred” Turner; and brothers, Ernest Brown, Curtis Brown, John Earl Brown, and Lloyd Brown. Aside from working in textiles, Doris served alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife for over 27 years.
She is survived by daughters, Angela Ballard (Ray) of Iron Station, and Barbara Hedges (Raymond) of Eastover, NC; seven grandchildren, Marvin Jackson (Angela), James-Keith Jackson (Angie), Steven Jackson (Tammy), Jason Jackson (Shawn), Brian Ballard, Deanna Ballard, Phillip Ballard (Elizabeth); eleven great-grandchildren, Rachel and Hannah Jackson, Journey Jackson, Cody and Tanner Jackson, Kaylynn Jackson, Baine Ballard, Eastyn Ballard, Mason and Chase Ballard; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Adeline Jackson and Harper Jackson.
