Nathan Rufus Setzer
( May 28, 1960 - August 4, 2021 )
Nathan Rufus Setzer, age 61, of 2109 Tin Mine Road in Lincolnton, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in his home in the arms of his family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
On Saturday, August 7th, family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life at the home of Shane and Heather Willis at 2:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stan Adams officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Nathan was born May 28th 1960, in Gaston County, to Ibera Mosteller Setzer and the late Max Setzer. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Phyllis Friday.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Cline Setzer of the home; daughter, Cori Hovis (Michael) of Lincolnton; son, Colby Setzer (Christen) of Lincolnton; mother, Ibera Setzer of High Shoals; sisters, Melissa Wilfong (Alan) and Sherron Gee, both of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Carleigh Setzer and Chandler Setzer; father-in-law, Lamar Friday; and mother and father-in-law, Judy and Jerry Cline.
Memorials may be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, for Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy Research, 8085 Saltsburg Road, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15239.
