Ann Lantz Reep
( October 23, 1932 - August 5, 2021 )
Ann Lantz Reep, 88, of Raleigh, NC passed away Thursday, August 5 at Transitions Lifecare in Cary surrounded by her family.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Daniels Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, NC with Reverend John Duncan presiding. The family will visit with friends at the church following the service.
She was born October 23, 1932, as the second of four children to the late Coy and Daisy Lantz of Lincoln County. She is survived by her son Mike Reep and his wife, Sharon, of Raleigh; son Mark Reep and his wife Kelley, of Cary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Huitt Reep. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Emily Reep Hoggard and her husband Jake; Charlie Reep, Autumn Reep and Jojo Reep. She has one great-grandchild, Luke Hoggard, born in February of this year. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Birke of Fayetteville, Frances Butler of Florence, AL, and her brother John Lantz of Lincolnton.
A graduate of Union High School in Vale, NC, Ann attended Appalachian State Teacher’s College in Boone, NC. (now Appalachian State University) where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught elementary school and preschool for many years until retirement in Kings Mountain, NC where she was an active member of Central United Methodist Church.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her friends and extended family and was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved taking care of her plants and cooking for those she loved. She enjoyed traveling and impressed everyone she met with her kindness.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff and friends at Cambridge Village of Apex and Magnolia Glen of Raleigh for the care and concern shown to Ann while she was a resident.
